Towards
the end of 1995, in Madrid, Carlos García (guitar) ande Javier
Gallego (drums), musicians who were at the forefront of the spanish
independent music movement in the early 90´s, start working
on a new poryect called INSECTO. Marcos Monge, a jazz influenced saxophonist,
joins them shortly after and the band becomes a trio.
In May 1996, insecto make their first appearance in a explosive live
session recorded for RNE3 (Spanish National Radio) that schocks both
the audience and the critics, who describe them as free, strong and
adventurous as well as wild and raw, with a touch of a peculiar free-jazz.
In April 1997 INSECTO enter the studio to start the recording of their
debut CD for a brand new records company called The Blue Fish Records.
A wide variety of friends and musicians jon the original trio during
recording sessions.
Insecto´s debut album Love Fiasco ( The Blue Fish Records, 1997
) is finally relased at the end of 1997. Critics praise the band´s
originality and their distinctive approach to music:

with some outstanding musicians such as Will Oldham and The Third
Eye Foundation.Once the tour is over, Marcos Monge quits and two new
musicians, Javier Adán (guitar) and Javier Díez (bass
& double bas), join the band. |
